I don’t often talk about the economy on my blog, but when I do, I am usually very critical of capitalism and its limitations. The most ridiculous theory that many countries seem to adopt is the one of trickle-down economics.
If you are unfamiliar with the term, it refers to an “economic proposition that taxes on businesses and the wealthy in society should be reduced as a means to stimulate business investment in the short term and benefit society at large in the long term.” (Wikipedia)
I know right? Who, in their right mind, in 2018, can still have hope that this strategy actually works? It is 2018, and it has never worked. Ever.
Regardless, this idiotic concept has inspired many artists and content creators. I have selected below my 10 favorite trickle-down economics illustrations, cartoons and memes. They are (not) funny because they are true.
Note: I could not find the original source of those illustrations: they are spread widely online. Some authors signed their art. The rights of cartoons and creations belong to their respective owners.
