Conscious Masculinity Panel Part Two: Going Deeper (Videos)

Exploring uncharted territories. Fearlessly.

J. Valentine (Moderator) | David Richeson | Ludo Gabriele | Spencer Jacobson | Jay Brown

In 2018, I was invited to be part of a conscious masculinity panel. Born at the initiative of Jazz Biancci, the first online conversation transformed into a recurring online think tank. Each month, I had the privilege to exchange with a superb group of individuals committed to personal growth and to the evolution of human consciousness. We shared our thoughts and our fears in complete vulnerability, with one goal: open and expand a much needed conversation about masculinity.

You can find the individual bios of the panelists here along with the first panel.

Below are the three conscious masculinity panels that took place in the last trimester of 2018. I hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed exploring these uncharted territories.

Conscious Masculinity: Going Deeper

  • Date: 10/03/2018

An intense and teated conversation around the shadow side of masculinity being the overall accepted norm for men and boys. We unpacked how most boys build their identity around toxic behaviors and ideals.

Conscious Masculinity: Pushing the envelope beyond gender

  • Date: 11/07/2018

A thought-provoking conversation where we went beyond the binary construct of gender. We talked about gender pronouns, gender identity and spirituality with a special guest.

The Guest: Rad (FKA Rebeca Prado Pereira Radoszkowicz) is a queer (im)migrant from Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil by ways of Florida & Michigan. Rad works at the intersection of various Art forms with activism, pursuing experimental performance at venues around NYC. They have been a Public Artist in Residence with the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, Co-Artistic Director of The Lost Collective, Director of Outreach with You Are Here. Their goals for the future involve continuing to perform in TV, Film, theatre and new media, along with creating Art with a conscience that creates space for healing, social and policy change.

Conscious Masculinity: Celebrating an epic 2018

  • Date: 12/05/2018

A year-end review during which we all shared insights about conscious masculinity and beyond. An enlarged conversation where we evoked our limitations, conditioning and intentions for the year 2019.
